Selection of available topics of Master and Bachelor theses:
Semantic Data Processing
-
Semantic XML3D retrieval. Development and performance evaluation of a XML3D repository for mixed semantic and geometric feature-based object retrieval.
Semantic Service Coordination:
-
Semantic Service Mashup. Development and experimental evaluation of a mashup tool for searching and composing relevant services in the web. The tool shall leverage our semantic service planner OWLS-XPlan 2.0 for mobile Android devices and be initially tested for user tasks in a selected application domain. Focus of this thesis is on the GUI, in particular the ontology-based maintenance of user profiles and service planning domains for the composition planner of the mashup tool.
-
Mobile Cloud-Based Semantic Service Composition. Development and comparative evaluation of options for efficient, utility-oriented outsourcing of semantic service composition planning (OWLS-XPlan 2.0) to the cloud (Eucalyptu, iCanClouds). The composition planner (or parts of them) shall run on an Android-based smartphone. Application of this mobile semantic service planner to selected application domain.
-
Adaptation of Semantic Service-Oriented Business Processes. Development of a tool for the adaptation of business process models in BPMN 2.0 to selected types of changes. Changes may occur either on the business process level (top-down adaptation) such as modifications of some business task or on the level of semantic services which realise the process model (bottom-up adaptation) such as modified descriptions, annotations or temporary unavailability of relevant services.
-
Structured Kernel-Based Selection of Semantic Services. Development of very fast methods for semantic Web service selection that utilize kernels for unstructured and structured data. Comparative evaluation with our SAWSDL-MX2, OWLS-MX3 and iSeM service matchmakers; semantic service test collections are available as well.
-
Semantic Service Composition in Peer-To-Peer Networks.Development and experimental performance evaluation of a method for composing semantic services in unstructured P2P networks by leveraging an appropriate AI planner.
Semantics and Agents for 3D Web Applications:
-
Hybrid Planning By Intelligent Avatars in Virtual Worlds. Development and evaluation of meta-heuristics for a fast situation-based use of reactive (BDI) planning or state-based action planning with Graphplan by an avatarin a given 3D virtual world. The avatar is controlled by an intelligent BDI agent (modeled with the JADEX DE). For this purpose, our ISReal platform and iAvatar DE can be utilized.
Quantum Internet:
-
QAM: Quantum Associative Memory for Quantum Search Agents Comparative analysis of approaches to quantum associative memory for search agents in the future quantum internet; programming and simulation of quantum search agents by use of quantumlib.
-
QCSP: On Quantum-Based Constraint Satisfaction Problem Solving Algorithmic quantum-based distributed CSP solution for a selected coordination problem; programming and simulation of solution using quantumlib
and more ...
